Research title Decentralization and Land Planning Policies. Summary of research This research searches analyse the decentralization process and subnational governance through the study of land planning policies, which is a holistic and integrated process that in many cases it is transformed in the political arena for different actors involved in the issue. This research will analyse the regional and communal situation in two regions of Chile: Valparaíso and Tarapacá.
Though the decentralization issue has been researched from different points of view in the world and in Chile, this is the first time that it is possible to analysis comparatively the response of the regional and communal level to the design and execution of their own territorial plans. That means a big challenge but also a great opportunity to contribute so the growth of the academic knowledge as the application of the public policies in the different levels of the country.
